Long Term Conditions Education Programme

In conjunction with NHS Bedfordshire, Bedford Daycare Hospice offers a 10 week education programme for patients in the complex / palliative stage of the disease. The focus is on well-being and empowering the patient to self-manage their condition, recognise their limitations and adapt their life-style accordingly. Specialist nurses review the patient at various stages throughout the programme. Incorporated within the programme are education sessions from the physiotherapist, occupational therapist, dietician and speech and language therapist. Chairbased exercises, relaxation and complementary therapy are also offered.
